The Williams pear is also known as the Bartlett pear in America and Canada and is one of the most commonly grown pears outside of Asia. The Williams is a classic shaped pear and its colours vary from green when unripe and yellow when ripe though there is also a red variety. Williams’s pears also tend to be the variety of choice when processing for products such as tins of pears in syrup to pear puree.
