History
Our company was founded in1969 and changed its name to Dole Fresh UK Limited in February 2009 as a result of Compagnie Fruitiere acquiring the business from Dole Inc in October 2008.
Prior to the acquisition the business had been owned by Dole Inc since 2006. However, Dole’s involvement in the company can be traced back to 1994 when it entered a joint venture with The Jamaica Producers Group Limited who had been trading in the UK since 1929.
In August 2009 Compagnie Fruitiere (UK) was integrated into Dole Fresh UK Limited to give us the operation we have today.
Compagnie Fruitiere, based in Marseilles, France, is one of the world’s leading importers of fresh produce from West Africa. The company was founded in 1939. The business operates a number of its own farms in this part of the world and manages a sizeable shipping operation.
Through the shareholding that Dole enjoys with Compagnie Fruitiere the two organisations have become powerful allies ensuring that their businesses can offer respective customers the best produce that the world can offer.
